Patricia Belcher

Patricia Belcher died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at her home in Commerce, Texas, following a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12th, at the First Baptist Church in Commerce with Bro. Johnnie Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City, under the direction of Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11th, at the First Baptist Church of Commerce.

Patricia was born October 16, 1944, in Petty, Texas, to William D. and Nunie McManus Haddock. She married Daryle Belcher on November 2, 1959, in Hunt County. Patricia was employed for 25 years by Haggar Manufacturing Company. After receiving her Level III Professional Secretary Certificate, Patricia joined the staff at A. C. Williams on August 1, 1991, and worked as the Principal's Administrative Assistant until her death. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce and the Adult IV Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her son David and daughter-in-law Lisa Belcher of Cooper; granddaughters: Brittany Belcher of Forney, Michelle and Megan Belcher of Cooper; sisters: Margaret Haddock Clinton, Oleta Haddock Arrington and husband Harold of Commerce, Oretha Haddock Campbell of San Marcos, Texas, Nelda Haddock Brunson and husband Curtis of Fate; a brother W. D. Haddock and wife Peggy of Fairview, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Daryle; her parents; sisters: Helen Haddock Harris, Shirley Haddock Speight; and a half-brother Marvin Haddock.

Pallbearers are Dale Campbell, Brad Arrington, Steve Speight, Gary Don Ferrell, Don Young, and John Bryan. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Young and Chester Robinson.
