William Preston Speight, 68, of Commerce passed away in Paris on Thursday, February, 18, 2010.
William was born March, 7, 1941 in Fairlie, Texas, to Carl Edmon and Jocie Catherine Ballard Speight.
He is survived by his loving spouse Bettie Kennedy; his children: Charon Denise Malone of Savoy, TX, Cherly Danaye Erwin of Wolfe City, TX, Chanda Diane Tanner of Wolfe City, TX, and Tina Kennedy Duffie of Commerce; a brother Danny Carl Speight and spouse Jennifer of Fairlie, TX; six grand children: Cera Quirl, Colten Erwin, Bowie Tanner, Tiffany Moreland, Brooke Tanner, and Ali Tanner; two great-grandchildren: Baylee Quirl and Graycee Quirl; three nieces: Jennifer Friddle of Sulphur Springs, TX, Lorrye Speight of Fairlie, TX, and Amanda Gable of Talco, TX; a nephew, Jeremy Gardner of Wolfe City, TX; and numerous friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Jones-Walker and Son Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Speight, Rev. Wesley McCasland, and Dr. John Horn officiating with special music sung by the Cason Family.
Interment will follow at Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
