Randy Lewis Benson

Randy Lewis Benson, 57, of Commerce, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011, at his residence.

Randy was born in Commerce to Eleanor Cleone Langley and Toy Benson. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps on June 21, 1979, after serving in Japan. He retired from the Commerce Police Department in 2004 after 27 1/2 years of service as a police officer and as a communications officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Benson of Commerce; his sons: Josh Benson and John Benson of Commerce; his daughter, Mindi Townsend (Wayne) of Greenville; his sisters: Linda Bearden (Bobby), Marie Ewalt and Brenda Davis of Commerce, and Myrah Benson; and, his grandson, Samuel Waylen Townsend of Greenville.

At Randy's request, no services will be held.
