Ray Junior Homer

Ray Junior Homer "aka Ray Sampson", 77, of Honey Grove, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center in Bonham, TX.  Ray was born in Petty, TX on June 25, 1943 to Bill Barry and Mary Joe Homer.  Ray met and married Gracell Finney.  He worked many years as a farmworker for AW Shelton and Hicks Graves. 

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gracell Sampson; sons, Kenness Sampson, Gowon Browner and Jimmy Ray Sampson; grandchildren, Monika Sampson, Lanika Sampson, Delois Sampson, Kenneth Sampson, Chante Sampson, Bryson Sampson, Taylor Brown, Kedryn Browner, Da' dreona Browner and Notorius Brown; great grandchildren Ja'Niya Hill, Jarvis Hill Jr, Kendarian Sampson, Shakira Cooper, Tionna Cooper, Reginald Cooper, Adeline Mae Howard, Eden Brown, Darius Thomas Jr, Lai'yohna Miya Redmond and Lah'myha Ra'chelle Redmond. He is also survived by his sisters, Cynthia Barry, Claudetta Barry and Deborah Jackson and her husband Billy Ray; his brothers, Donald Barry and his wife Monica and Larry Barry and his wife Debra.  

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Cynthia Denise Bills, sister Gracie Mae Franklin, brothers, Glenn Barry, Eddie Lee Barry, Troy Barry and Roy Barry.

Viewing will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Christian Chapel C.M.E. Church in Honey Grove.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Honey Grove. (Due to weather conditions services were rescheduled)
