Raymond Charles Johnson

Raymond Charles Johnson, 58, of Commerce passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at his residence.  Raymond was born in Cooper, TX on March 6, 1962 to Charlie Johnson and Georgia Owens Johnson.  He was married to Verbena Johnson.

Raymond was a man of many talents and worked in many professions and enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

Raymond is survived by Verbena Johnson of Dallas; sons: Mark Davenport and wife Sabrina of Sulphur Springs and Taurean Anderson; daughters: Taquita Johnson of Arlington and Ashley Anderson of Dallas; grandchildren: Kenzie Walsh, Diamond Mosley, Tristan Key, Matthew Howard, Jazzlyn Lomas, Gabriel Jaimes, Anthony Davenport and Makia Johnson; great grandson Tyreek Williams; sisters: Doris Reynolds, Mary Sanders and Beverly Mathis; his brother Kenneth Johnson.  He is also survived by many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Etha Stroup and Rosa Lang; brothers: Reginald Johnson and William Austin. Also preceded by a granddaughter Ny'sia Castleberry Davenport.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Ignite Ministries Church in Cooper.  Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cooper.

Pallbearers will be Mark Davenport, Shae Gwin, Matthew Howard, Mattison Drum, Desmond Mathis, Kenny Johnson, Bobby Reynolds Jr. and William Austin Jr.  Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Austin and Lee Mathis.
