Richard Ohr, Sr., age 74, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Richard was a proud member of the Marine Corps and served in many other capacities in his community throughout his life. These included helping establish the Honey Grove Youth Sports organization, serving as an elder at his church - Main Street Presbyterian - and also on the Honey Grove City Council. He was very involved in his son’s sporting endeavors from little league through college.
His happiest times were spent at his cabin at Lake Texoma and running his business. Richard started Texas Leather Manufacturing in the 1980s. He was a member of the Western and English Salesman association (WESA) over 37 years. He enjoyed working with his customers and vendors alike. At the time of his passing, Richard was a proud member of the McKenzie United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband and father.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ann Fell; son, JR Ohr, daughter-in-law, Morgan Ohr and granddaughters Waverly and Palmer; daughter, Tasha Ohr Devereaux and grand grandchildren Connor and Chloe; nieces Dori Selby Dethlefs, Chrissy Selby Tate, Kristy Dempsey, and Delaina Fell and their families. Richard was preceded in death by his parents George Martin Ohr and Mary Ethel Ohr, and sister Nancy Ohr Selby.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the McKenzie United Methodist Church in Honey Grove with Rev. Tami Gallaway officiating.
