He was born in Millington, TN on September 26, 1953 to Francis Gardiner Rice and Dorothy Jean Plummer. He was raised in Union City, Oklahoma and graduated from Ulysses S. Grant High School. Richard married Doreen Kay (Sims) Rice on May 3, 1980 and one daughter and two sons became a part of this union. Richard remained faithful to his wife for 27 years until the Lord called her home.
Richard Rice dedicated his life to Christ during his younger years and was a member of New Generation Word of Faith Church for more than 20 years, serving as an usher for the church. His walk demonstrated unconditional love, kindness, and true forgiveness. He enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts, but his favorite hobbies included building model cars and planes, painting, latch look rugs, and diamond artwork. He also took pride in care for his grand-dogs, Reeno, Riiser and Rosie, whom they affectionately knew him as "Papa".
He is preceded in death by his parents, (Francis and Dorothy), wife (Doreen) and niece (Melissa).
His memories will be cherished forever by his children: Marcia (Efram), Ricky and Jacob; his sisters: Charlotte Ann Mueller (Martin) and Frances Boullaouz (Earl) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
