Rickey E. "Rick" Belcher, 52, of Commerce passed away February 14, 2009, at his home. Born December 28, 1956, he was the son of Sanford "Junior" Belcher and Barbara Belcher.
He married Penny Holloway on September 12, 1983 in Rockwall, TX.
Having started his career with the Cotton Belt Railroad in Commerce, he retired after 30 years of service from the Union Pacific Railroad, as a track foreman. He was also the owner of R & P Junction (known as The Junction) for 15 years.
Surviving are his wife, Penny Belcher; 2 sons, Ricky Belcher and wife Misty, and Zane Belcher all of Commerce; his father Sanford "Junior" Belcher and wife Irene of Ridgeway; 2 brothers, Ladayne Belcher and wife Mary Jane of Commerce, and Ronney Belcher of Ridgeway; 2 sisters, Lynnyall "Lynn" Belcher and husband, Rick of Commerce, and Patresa Reynolds of Commerce; a sister in law, Vicki Holloway; and a brother in law, Paul Holloway; granddaughters, Taylor Belcher and Tori Belcher of Commerce; and, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceeded in death by his mother, Barbara Belcher.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Commerce with Bro. Roy Lee Dittmar and Bro. Johnnie Henderson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tom Smith, Jerry Tice, Nick Jordan, Jimmy Sims, Dudley Shaw, and Dave McKinney. The Bruam's Coffee Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation will be Monday, February 16, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Commerce.
