Robert H. Callanan

Robert Callanan, 65, of Celeste passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, in South Carolina.

Robert was born in Newark, New Jersey, on October 29, 1948, to Joyce R. Helwig and Ronald G. Callanan. He was married to Shelley Banks Callanan.

He was a member of the Miller Masonic Lodge #224 of Celeste. Robert loved cooking, traveling and his animals.

Survivors include his wife, Shelley; his son, John T. Callanan of Celeste; his daughter, Patricia Auten of Arlington; his grandchildren, Brett and Brandi; his five great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard Callanan and his wife Leslie of New Jersey; his nephews; and, his mother-in-law and father-in-law whom he considered his second mom and dad, Frances and Kenneth Caplinger of Celeste. He is also survived by his four-legged friend, "Shooters" the cat, who traveled everywhere with him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce; his brother, Brian; and, his baby grandson, Luke.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family asks that donations be made to the Celeste Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O. Box 145, Celeste, TX 75423.

A private family gathering will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2014.
