Robert Wendell Collins, 89, of Klondike passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014.

Robert was born in Greenfield, IN, on July 20, 1925, to Mary Lavaughn Williams Collins and Harvey Everett Collins.

Robert proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during WW II. He was married to Janie (Helen J.) Stell Collins.

For many years, Robert was a Building Engineer and he was a Pastor at Central Baptist Church in Euless, TX. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; and, he really enjoyed farming.

Survivors include his wife; his sons: Robert N. Collins of Jefferson and Daniel E. Collins of Talco; his daughters: Nancy Goad of Jefferson and Mary Carter of Jefferson; and, his four children that he raised as his own: Bucky Langston of Ft.Worth, Andrea Hurley of Cooper, Misty Frazier of Quitman and Nicole Miller of Commerce. Robert is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren, his four brothers: Dale Collins of Houston, John Collins of Garland, Phillip Collins of Plano and David Collins of Garland, and, his two sisters: Sandra Stevens of Garland and Linda Tate of DeSoto.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Connie; his son, Tim, and his great- grandson, Levi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie, with Bro. Oliver Mowat and Dale Collins officiating.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the family.
