Roma Leo Anglin

Roma Leo Anglin, 84, formerly of Commerce, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Seton Hospital in Austin.

Roma was born on December 9, 1925, to Johnny and Martha E. Gibson Anglin in Campbell. He served in the Army-Air Force during WWII. He married his bride, Reba Jeannette Farrow, on December 21, 1949.

Roma was a pilot, teacher, farmer, and retired from the Texas Education Agency. He was also a mechanic, bus driver, and had owned a Shell and Humble service stations. Roma loved to sing and play the harmonica; and, he was a jack-of-all-trades.

Roma is survived by his children: Gail Hyde and spouse, Dart, of Dripping Springs, TX, and Darrell Anglin and spouse, Jodie, of Austin, TX; two brothers: Milbern Anglin of Greenville, TX, Newt Anglin of Sulphur Springs, TX; a sister, Martha Matthews Snyder of San Angelo, TX; his grandchildren: Clint Hyde and spouse, Kasey, of Fort Worth, TX, Katherine Faircloth and spouse, Mykal, of CA, Drew Hyde and spouse, Kayla, of Ranger, TX, Ryan Hudson and spouse, Stephanie, of Austin, TX, Elizabeth Lockwood and spouse, Seth, of Austin, TX, and Charlotte Hudson of Houston, TX; his great grandchildren: James Hyde, Preston Hyde, Jesse Hyde, Annabelle Hyde, Emelia Hyde, and Isaac Faircloth; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents; three brothers: Travis Anglin, John Morris Anglin, and Amos Anglin; and four sisters: Verda Hogue, Ara Evelyn Eddins Farrow, Ruby Leigh Donovan McGrory, and Neva Barnett.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 30, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Commerce at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Mark Bryant officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Stewart Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, August 29, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are Clint Hyde, Drew Hyde, Ryan Hudson, Seth Lockwood, Mickey Eddins, Eddie Barnett, Mark Anglin, Mike Anglin, and Larry Anglin.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ronny Anglin, Frankie Eddins, David Matthews, Johnny Matthews, James Hyde, and Preston Hyde.
