Samuel McCarter

Samuel L. McCarter, 55, of Cumby, passed away in the early morning hours of August 31, 2021 at Christus Health facility of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mr. McCarter was born in Dallas, Texas on May 26, 1966, the son of Johnny Everett McCarter and Cuba Jean Grubbs. He married Betty Hill on March 19, 2007 in Cumby, Texas. Samuel loved spending time with his kids and he loved to dance, you never knew just what he was going to do on the dancefloor. He was raised by a very special dad, Royce Campbell.

Those who survive him are: his wife, Betty, daughter, Jamye McCarter, sons: Samuel J. McCarter, Bryson McCarter, Hayden Winstead, and Joseph Winstead. He is also survived by his sister Penny Alkine and husband David, of Sulphur Springs, brother Royce Campbell and wife Karen of Yantis, and brother Johnny McCarter and wife Karen of Naples, Florida. He was preceded in death by a son, Harley McCarter.

Come and go viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Caney Cemetery in Campbell, Texas.
