Velma Leftrick, 88, of Honey Grove passed away in Bonham on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
Velma was born in the Dial Community on July 30, 1925, to Buck Leftrick and Lottie Royal Leftrick.
She was a giving and humble person who loved the Lord. Velma was always ready to help anyone and never met a stranger. In her pastime, you would find her reading her Bible or doing a word find puzzle.
Left to treasure her memories are the children she raised as her own: Carolyn Patt of Paris and Virginia Nell Cole of Dallas, Alfred and Richard Leftrick both of Dallas; and, her three sisters: Thelma Careathers of Denison, Altrice Huey of Bonham and Jessie Clark of Honey Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers: B.C. Leftrick, J.C. Leftrick and Roy Jean Leftrick; and, her sister, Ola Bell Leftrick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at St. James Baptist Church in Honey Grove with Rev. David Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Honey Grove.
Pallbearers will be Robert Clark, Jeffery Clark, Bobby Clark, Kevin Easter, Alfred Leftrick and Ronald Russell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of St. James Baptist Church in Honey Grove.
