Vera Bettye Boyd

Vera Bettye Boyd, 94, of Campbell passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013, in Greenville.

She was born in Eulogy, TX, on September 23, 1918, to Ellen McCarty and Thomas Williams. She was a retired school cafeteria manager for Campbell ISD after 21 1/2 years of service. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening and crocheting.

Survivors include her son, Garry T. Boyd (Betty Jane) of Gladewater; her daughter, Bettye Ann Humphries (Lyndol) of Campbell; her grandchildren: David Humphries of Campbell, Michael Humphries of Humble; Larry Humphries of Campbell, Todd Boyd of Hughes Springs, Karen Potter of Gladewater and Lisa Arrington of Gladewater; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Truman Boyd; two sisters; four brothers; and, her parents.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Donnie Williams and Bro. Joel Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Brigham Cemetery in Campbell.

Pallbearers will be David Humphries, Michael Humphries, Larry Humphries, Todd Boyd, Michael Potter and Jay Arrington.
