Walter B. Milam

Walter Burt Milam, 82, of Commerce passed away at his home on September 26, 2009.

Milton was born June 8, 1927, in Newburn, Tennessee, to Paul Milam and Ola Barker Milam. Burt retired from Paris ISD and was an auctioneer for fifty years. He married Snowda Snowden on October 5, 1963, and was a member of the Fairlie Baptist Church.

Survivors include his three sons; Burt Milam Jr. and wife Lynne of Memphis, TN, Rick Milam and wife Paulette of Harvey, LA, Randy Milam of Commerce, two daughters; Rhonda Milam of Commerce and Rita Krodle and husband Robert of Commerce, a brother, Bud Milam of Yaba City, CA, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Snowda.

Pallbearers are Justin Milam, Dustin Milam, BT Brown, Dalton Krodle, Jake Vann, and Colton Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers are LCPL Brandon Brown, Billy Julian, Sonny Moore, and Ron Lovelace.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel.

Burial will follow at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie, Texas.
